Vance County Arts Alive Talent Showcase
The Arts Alive Talent Showcase for Vance County Schools on Saturday, March 25, 2017 featured about 70 students from the school system who shared their amazing talents in singing, dancing, reciting dramatic readings and playing instruments on the stage at the McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center. The Vance-Granville Community Band started rehearsals again on Monday, Jan. 11, but it is not too late for musicians to join the group, according to Carl Cantaluppi of Butner, clarinet player and music librarian for the ensemble. Music Therapy at Clarke Elementary
Clarke Elementary School students are benefitting from a music outreach program provided by First Presbyterian Church of Henderson. The grant program allows for a music therapist, Cheryl Benze, to visit with special needs students in three classrooms each Wednesday and lead them in music activities.
