Butterfield Honors the Life of Rev. James McKinnon
Congressman G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) today spoke on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to honor the life of Reverend James “Jim” Hawley McKinnon, Jr. of Wilson, North Carolina. He retired after serving as senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Wilson for almost 30 years. Reverend McKinnon died on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 77. Click here to watch Rep. The North Carolina Community Foundation in accordance with the Frances Abbot Burton Powers Endowment awarded three Henderson, NC groups as recipients of the 2016 grant program. Vance County High School Robotics Team, the Henderson-Vance Downtown Development Commission, and Community Partners of Hope all received grants this year. Spring Street Missionary Baptist Church will host their annual Trunk-or-Treat on, Saturday, October 31st from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the church parking lot located at 511 Orange Street. First Baptist Church Bell Ringers Leads Worshop at Duke University Chapel for 38th Consecutive Year
The middle and high school youth handbell group, The Bell Ringers of the First Baptist Church (Henderson), led worship at Duke University Chapel this past Sunday for a 38th consecutive year.
