VGCC offers Wire-Wrapped Jewelry class

wire-wrapped2Vance-Granville Community College will offer a two-hour class in which participants will learn how to make unique, elegant pieces of jewelry. The “Jewelry: Wire-Wrapped Rings & Earrings” class is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. until noon on the college’s Main Campus in Vance County.

During this class, instructor Alison Beal of Wake Forest will lead participants through the process of making a pair of wire-wrapped earrings and a wire-wrapped ring. As this is a so-called “make it, take it” class, participants will leave with unique, completed pieces of jewelry to keep or to give as gifts, as well as skills that they can use later.

The total cost per person, including all materials and fees, is $25.

Registration in advance is required. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Sept. 17. For more information, contact Theresa Somerville at (252) 738-3427 or SomervilleT@vgcc.edu.
