I want to know how much longer the citizens of Vance County are going to tolerate all of these drug dealers? Do people seriously drive around town with their eyes closed or they just not sure what they were looking at? Both people mentioned in this article are known to be drug dealers in the area, both have criminal history as long as a light pole, and both are known to be violent; especially the second subject listed. People wonder why millennials are going off to college and never coming back. It says a lot about our local culture when the police department has to call in another police department to help (out in the county) and can’t rely on the local Sheriff’s department to lock up criminals. Just Sayin’.
Being originally from outside Vance, I don’t think the police department in Henderson compares well with other municipalities I’ve lived in. Obviously the low pay accounts for most of this. Solution? Spread the tax base. Easier said than done.
Can’t blame all of the problem on the police, they nab them, they bail out and their defense attorneys drag out the cases. Spend time in any shopping area parking lot and you’ll see it right out in the open. The answer ? I don’t have one do you?
Nice surname!!!!! Somehow seems appropriate for a Henderson resident!! Overheard 2 ladies conversation @ a big chain store in Henderson yesterday….they were upset b/c they had to wait over 2 hours @ Dept. of Social Services b/c so many people were trying to get DSS to pay their utility bill. Almost fell in the aisle when 1 of them said “gurl i was @ that casino & i just knew i was gone to win some $$$”! Glad I didn’t fall b/c @ my age it probably would’ve resulted in a broken hip!! Glad to know Henderson has 5+ casinos…..now my girlfriends & I won’t have to go to Cherokee!!
Now who says Vance Co. doesn’t have any economic development? Seems as if after a lil’ research 1 of the casinos is located in a strip plaza owned by former State Representative Jim Crawford……….hmmmMmmmmm
