All aboard for the Imagination ArtStation

Children who were in elementary school this year still have time to get their tickets for Imagination ArtStation, the Vance County Arts Council’s award-winning weeklong day camp at E.M. Rollins Elementary School.

Monday is the regular registration deadline for the camp for rising first- to sixth-graders. After that day, the price of the camp rises from $60 ($55 for the children of Arts Council members) to $80. Financial aid is available to reduce the cost to $10.

The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. daily from June 20 to June 24 at Rollins.

Rising first- to third-graders will be placed into “boxcars” (groups of 10 to 12) and conducted through four stations per day. The activities will include creative movement and games, music, visual arts and crafts.

Rising fourth- to sixth-graders will have a choice of four classes for the first 90 minutes and four other classes for the final 90 minutes. The options include papier-mache, theater, beading, scrapbooking, journal making, and decoupage and collage.

The Henderson Junior Woman’s Club and Vance County Schools are helping sponsor the day camp.

More information and registration forms are available at the Vance County Arts Council’s Web site.
