Pick of the day: Some fresh clicks


Maybe this whole World Wide Web thing is starting to catch on. The H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library is using a state Library Services and Technology Act grant to revitalize an online face that was eight years out of date. Along with its under-construction but ever-useful new site at www.perrylibrary.org, the Perry Library has a clean, simple new logo:

The city of Henderson, which launched its own new site a few months ago, now has a slogan to promote it, “Be in the know … click & go.” Joanie Medlin, the chief operator at the regional water plant, won dinner for two at the Uptown Rose for submitting that phrase in a contest among city employees that drew 29 serious entries and several not so serious (like these from Whiskey Tango, we suspect; scroll down to Comment 6). Sheri Jones turned the slogan into a logo that soon will be appearing on a city vehicle near you:
