Another day passes without any activity at the Vance County Board of Elections. No one has filed for any office in Henderson since July 11, and no one has filed for any office in Middleburg at all. With the filing period for the fall elections half over, it’s worth paying attention to the seats without candidates in Henderson. No one has filed for the ward seat in Ward 2 (now held by Harriette Butler), the ward seat in Ward 4 (now held by Lonnie Davis) or the mayoralty (Clem Seifert). The filing period ends at noon Aug. 5.
