The Vance County Board of Commissioners plans to cover the following items during its regular meeting today:
* The board will appoint the clerk to the board, the vice chairman, the county manager, the finance officer, the county attorney, and the custodians for the courthouse, administration building, Henry A. Dennis Building, county office building and social services building. Those custodians will be Bob Fuller for the courthouse and administration building, Sandra Grissom for the Dennis Building, Harold Thompson for the county office building, and Sam Lane for the social services building.
* The board will adopt a schedule of holidays for 2006.
* Commissioners will designate opening and closing hours for public buildings as Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
* Three members will be appointed to the Vance County Fire Commission. If the vote goes as slated, Mike Coghill will be the chairman and Deborah Brown and Ron Jones will be members.
* Among items in the finance officer’s report, QZAB bonds for school improvement will be discussed.
* The human resources director will report on the county personnel policy and a career development plan.
* County Manager Jerry Ayscue will report on position vacancies, the Citizen Participation Plan for the CDGB project, surplus equipment, the hub project signing ceremoney, and a tour that will be conducted with state legislators Friday. Also, the meeting date for January will be set.
