Members of the press were given this written statement by Henderson Mayor Clem Seifert during Monday night’s City Council meeting. We give it to you here verbatim:
The City of Henderson appreciates the services rendered by Mr. Williams over the past 23 years. However, at this time Henderson is facing new challenges and new directions which the majority of the Council feel requires new leadership in management. While the city does not choose to continue the employment of Mr. Williams, we wish him well in his future endeavors and professional career.
The immediate transition period will be overseen by Assistant City Manager Mark Warren and we know the city will continue to be run professionally and competently during this transition period.
The citizens and city workers can be assured that the operations of the City will continue to serve them well. The decisions for formulating a search committee for employing a new city manager will be discussed by the Council at a future date.
