Embassy Wars: The saga continues

Embassy Wars — Episode II: The Taxpayers Strike Back (posted June 28)

As the Emperor and Darth Manager struggle to devise a scheme to get the rebellion to trust them, Princess Elissa of Chavasse poses to expose their scheme. During a council meeting the Princess asked Darth Manager to allow her to see the detailed plans of the new Embassy Block “Death Star” Project.

Princess Elissa: Darth, can you explain the overspending the Empire has done on the Embassy Block to the tune of $400,000.

Darth: My sweet princess, why do you question our efforts? All the other council members are complying with the Emperor’s demands.

Princess Elissa: I will never succumb to the dark side, Darth.

Emperor: Lord manager, perhaps she will be persuaded if we bring in the accounting droid.

Accounting droid: I cannot answer each question in detail, but I have been told that all money is accounted for.

Princess Elissa: WHO approved the spending?

Accounting droid: The Emmpp … Self-destruct activated.

The princess leaves the meeting with the accounting droid, still confused and determined to get answers.

Emperor: Lord manager, you must get this year’s budget passed so that last year’s spending would look justified.

Darth: Yes, my master, I will use smoke and mirrors as Obi-wan taught me.
Emperor: Lord manager, I have heard that the chief storm trooper has been intercepting space smugglers on the intergalactic highway and has been given reward money by the Federation.

Darth: Yes, my lord, but the Federation has strict control over how it is spent.

Emperor: I will trust you will devise a way for us to use this Federation money to enhance our Empire.

Darth: I will not allow the Empire to furnish starships to the storm troopers this year, and they will have to spend Federation money. We will take the difference and put it into the Embassy Death Star Block.

Emperor: How clever, lord manager, I have always had faith in you and your abilities as a smoke-and-mirrors sith.

Darth: Master, it is finished. The council and the commissioners have both accepted our plans for the Economic Partnership.

Emperor: Great job, lord manager, nothing can stop us now, not even Princess Elissa and the rebellious Web site posters.

Darth: I will have Chancellor Clem threaten these posters by having their identities revealed. Once this is done, we will have defeated the rebellion.

As Chancellor Clem fires back at posters, the rebellion continues to post anonymously, exposing the Emperor’s scheme to conquer the economic universe.
