Embassy Wars: The saga continues

Embassy Wars — Episode III (posted June 30)

As the Empire finished their scheme to put heavy tariffs on the rebels, the Emperor met with Darth Manager in secret.

Emperor: Lord manager, how could you allow for the press to find that we put Federation seizure funds into our general fund?

Darth: Master, this was not my doing. The rebels must have a spy on the inside.

Emperor: If the Federation finds this out, we will be exposed, and this will delay our scheme.

Darth: I must meet with the chief storm trooper and devise a plan of smoke and mirrors to fool the Federation of this deviation of funds.

Emperor: Will the chief storm trooper allow for this?

Darth: Master, he will be seduced to the dark side as the council has been.

Darth Manager met with the chief storm trooper and advised him of the Emperor’s control over his seizure money.

Chief storm trooper: Darth, we cannot use the Federation money for the Emperor’s general fund. The Federation has put strict guidelines on how this money is used. It must be used to supplement our battalion of storm troopers that are battling the space smugglers.

Darth: Chief, you underestimate the power of the dark side. The Emperor has foreseen the construction of the Death Star (E. Block), and our deceptive use of Federation funds is a vital part of the equation. Don’t worry, Chief, we will also be taking funds from the Powell Bill of the Federation and putting it into our fund balance. This will ensure that we will have control of the spending.

The chief storm trooper left and headed back to the command ship next to the Death Star construction site.

Emperor: Darth, summon Lord Slum and advise him the Federation has just issued a $650,000 grant to improve dwellings that he has control over. We will need to divert some of this money to our scheme.

Darth: I will produce a smoke-and-mirror effort to gain control of this money master.

Emperor: It is all coming into place now, Darth. We have the budget passed, and our plans to continue construction of the Death Star with Federation money is working fine.

Emperor: Darth, you and Chancellor Clem are to summon the Ferguson Delegation and go to the Federation capital and seek more money. Use the Jedi mind trick on the senators and make them think we are in need here.

The budget passed, and all of the Senate went their separate ways back to their colonies to try to explain to their citizens the outcome. Many were glad the saga was over until next year. The rebellion was left paying higher taxes with less service from the Empire. The storm troopers were left without a salary increase until next year even when they are required into battle at a more frequent rate than ever. The Emperor was left with the assurance that the Empire would continue using his fuel for its star fleet and that the Death Star construction would be complete.

May the force be with us all.
