Embassy Wars: The saga continues

Embassy Wars: Episode IX- A New Hope (posted October 20)

Fall Equinox was upon the empire. The rebels were busy posing questions to the new candidates to assure they were not under the emperor’s control.

The emperor met with Padawan Wester and advised him of a plot to defeat princess Elissa.

Emperor: Wester, my child, we seem to have many that oppose you. Your art of smoke and mirrors has not been convincing enough. We must not allow the princess to win.

Padawan Wester: My master, I will win. I cannot lose. I have been here for twelve years.

Emperor: You fool, it is very apparent that the rebels are blaming you for this despair the empire is currently in.

Padawan Wester: Forgive my ignorance master. Please inform me what to do.

The emperor consulted Wester on a strategy to assure victory over the rebel princess.

The elections for the rulers of the empire were forthcoming and the campaigning in all the quadrants was at full speed. The outer shell of the death star is complete and will soon become fully operational. Rebels throughout the empire continue to question the intentions of the candidates and it was obvious which of those were faithful to the emperor. Questions were thrown at the candidates to better understand them.

Editor, Rebellion News: Why are you running for office in the empire?

Princess Harper of Bellewood: My fellow citizens, I promise to bring leadership that the empire has never seen before. I have proven that I can operate and manage a company and make a profit. Many of the current council have only learned the art of smoke and mirrors and how to spend money. I am running to prove that things can change.

Padawan Wester: I am running to assure that things do not change and that the Emperor will fulfill his destiny. I also cannot tolerate Princess Elissa.

Princess Elissa of Chavasse: My intentions are to prove that this empire has for years deceived the citizens and waste the tariffs on boondoggle spending. The death star was excessively expensive but all the others are too afraid of the emperor to speak the truth.

Gupton of Tatooine: I intend to pull all stormtroopers off the intergalactic highway and strategically place them throughout the empire to battle Tuskin Raiders.

Butler of Planet Botox: I have no opinion of my own. If I talk too much my face will crack. Please ask Bernard the question first and I will concur.

Queen Emma of Parkway: I promise to strategically place feeding outpost throughout the empire. Galactic nuggets for everyone.

Gister of Granite: I will promise speed bumps for everyone.

Recap Rainey: I will promise new tires on shuttles for every renter in quadrant one.

Von Rebel Williams: I will seek federation control over the empire to assure that my window is replaced.

As the candidates stated their contribution to the empire, many wondered why some remained silent. Perhaps it was to later reply after only hearing the answers of other candidates.

Meanwhile the emperor paid Darth Manager a visit to discuss the future of the empire.

Emperor: My dear friend, I can tell you are disturbed about the current affairs.

Darth Manager: My lord, I am being blamed for the lack of foresight in the operational expense of the death star. There are some on the council that would like me to be replaced. I thought I had mastered the art of smoke and mirrors but the force is strong with Princess Elissa and she can see through me.

Emperor: You underestimate my power lord manager. I still control the majority of the candidates and you will be guaranteed this position forever. So, tell me how is the weed and seed program coming.

Darth Manager: The chief stormtrooper has submitted a rough draft and we hope to acquire federation funding within a year.

Emperor: Yes, this will give us the resources we need to finish the death star. I have heard that some of the council wishes to purchase fuel from other sources than mine. This must not be allowed to happen. I can assure you will be well rewarded if my fuel outposts are given priority.

Darth Manager: My lord I will try but many are looking to cut cost.

Emperor: The cost is of no concern to me. Do not fail me or you will be replaced.

The Election Day was upon the empire and few colonists were seen at the polling places. Many in the empire felt as if there was no need to vote and that there was little hope for change. As the evening drew to an end the votes were tallied and to the amazement of the emperor, Princess Elissa defeated Padawan Wester. The force was strong with her and the emperor was furious.

The rebels now had elected officials on the council to represent them and to assure a quality of life that was free from the rule of the emperor. The days of being over taxed was drawing to an end. Many celebrated and hope was finally restored in the galaxy.

As the rebels celebrated and victory speeches were held the emperor stood in the mist of the crowd along side of Padawan Wester and Darth Manager.

Padawan Wester: My master, I have failed thee.

Emperor: My child, you still do not fully understand the power of the dark side. Do not underestimate the control that I still have with the newly formed alliance. I can assure you wealth beyond you comprehension.

Darth Manager: My lord, what about my position with the empire?

Emperor: Fear not lord manager, you are ensured a position for life. The newly appointed members will not likely replace you as of yet. They will need time to break through the smoke and mirrors to fully understand. Until then you need to continue to master the art to a new level that they will not see through.
Just look at them celebrate. Fools!

As the three siths disappeared in the crowd, the celebration continued and glee was heard throughout the galaxy. A new hope was given to the rebels.
