Purse-snatching on Raleigh Road


At 10:13 a.m. yesterday, the Henderson Police Department responded to a reported purse-snatching in front of Andy’s on Raleigh Road.

The victim, Edith Branch, reported to police that two black males knocked her down, took her purse, and ran.

The males were last seen running behind the Dollar General in the same shopping complex towards the railroad tracks.

With the assistance of Deputies Poteat, Parrish, and K-9 Argo of the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, a search of the area was conducted, but the suspects were not immediately found.

No injuries were reported to Branch.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect 1

Black male

5’08” in height

Slender build

Dark brown complexion

Wearing a scarf or toboggan-style had on head, black leather jacket, dark pants

Suspect 2

Black male

5′ 08″ to 10″ in height

Slender build

Medium complexion

Wearing plaid jacket, blue jeans
