Boy Scouts host business after hours
The Occoneechee Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host a Business After Hours in conjunction with the Chambers of Commerce from Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren counties this Thursday, October 5, 2006 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Presbyterian Point on Kerr Lake.
County commissioners approve additional firefighters
At Monday’s Vance County Board of Commissioner’s meeting, County Manager Jerry Ayscue recommended to members that the county authorize funding to hire two additional firefighters for the Vance County Fire Department.
Etheridge asks Pres. to hold school safety meet in NC
Raleigh — Following President Bush’s announcement that he will convene a national school security summit in the wake of the recent school shootings, U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) invited the President to hold the summit in North Carolina’s Second Congressional District.
