Awards for attendance, Shining Moments

Two awards were presented at the Vance County Board of Education meeting Monday evening.


Melissa Dancy Smith with Attendance Award for Carver Elementary School

Melissa Dancy-Smith, Assistant Principal of Carver Elementary School, accepted the Attendance Award for the Fourth School Month. Carver topped the list with an average daily attendance of 96.22%.

Terri Hedrick with award from Carolina Public Relations Association

Terri Hedrick, Vance County Schools’ Public Information Officer received a plaque from the North Carolina Public Relations Association honoring her work in directing and producing the television program VCS Shining Moments.

VCS Shining Moments is aired Monday evenings at 7:30 on local cable Channel 7.
