To the editor: Time to help male youth

In response to the growing crime among the youth in Henderson, my friend and coworker showed me this letter he has planned to send to our local newspaper editor.

I told him I would send it to my editor and he was pleased I offered.

I have strong feelings about getting our wayward children on a better path and I personally believe the arts will play a big part in that. I believe that as members of our many churches walk among the lost and lonely and reach out to mentor even one child, our youth and future will be saved. Jesus didn’t come to touch the righteous. He walked among the most needy and offered hope and love.

To all you “doubting Thomas” people, I tell you, there are many people who care and we will all find each other and make a constructive difference.

Dear Christian Brothers:

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7) Ecclesiastes 3:3 states: “A time to kill, and a time to heal, a time to break down, and a time to build.”

It is time for us men who fear God to come from behind the four walls, come together as one to encourage our young males to stop destroying our neighborhoods with destructive weapons. United, we can develop strategies to win this war because the Lord has given us the power to force the devil and his tricks out of our communities and send him back to hell where he belongs.

We must provide opportunities for our male youth and young men to learn about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and learn more about Christian morals, values, respect, responsibilities and brotherly love.

Calvary Temple Men’s Fellowship Ministry is appealing to Christian men in each church to brainstorm and create a battle plan to be executed and implemented in our communities that will combat these ills. We need your help and input!

Pray that God will bless us in this endeavor. We welcome your comments, ideas, opinions, suggestions and recommendations. Let us hear from you. Please contact Louis Roseboro at (252) 767-9165 or Calvary Temple Holy Church at (252) 438-7065 to discuss any concern you may have. “Be Blessed!”

Yours in Christ,

Louis Roseboro
