On March 15, 2007, at 12:40 p.m., the Henderson Police Department responded to a call concerned a possible shooting at 415 Spring Court.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Shuketia Ross, 22, had apparently been shot while sitting in a vehicle in front of the residence. Ross had already been transported to Maria Parham Medical Center by private vehicle.
After further investigation, officers found that the suspect, Jalal Triplett, 27, had entered the residence at 415 Spring Street after the shooting occurred. Police attempted to contact the suspect inside the residence but were unsuccessful.
The Henderson Police Department’s SWAT team was contacted and responded to the scene. The team entered the residence and found Triplett suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
Ross, who suffered gunshot wounds to her arm and chest was admitted to Maria Parham Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition. Triplett was transferred to the Duke University Medical Center and was listed in critcal condition.
The investigation is continuing by members of the Criminal Investigations Division.
