Home in Henderson has obtained a copy of the Minimum Housing Inspection Checklist used by the City of Henderson’s Code Compliance and Planning & Community Development Departments.
It has been proposed that the City would use this checklist or one similar to it for Certificate of Occupancy inspections.
The Yes/No checklist is divided into six main sections:
* Site/Property
* Exterior Structure
* Interior Structure
* Utilities (Plumbing)
* Utilities (Heating)
* Utilities (Electrical)
There is also a short section at the bottom of the second page for a narrative on “Other possible violations”.
Five of the six main parts of the checklist cite specific sections of the Minimum Housing Ordinance. They also include a prose narrative explanation of each item that is being assessed. The exception is the first part of the checklist that deals with Site/Property. This section examines zoning compliance, nuisance violations, and whether or not approved garbage containers with lids are on the premises. These items are required under different ordinances than the bulk of the checklist.
The checklist also includes a box in which the inspector may make notes or comments on each specific item.
