President of the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce

Whether you were able to attend or not, the “Meet Me in the Street” event on Thursday evening, April 19, 2007 was a huge success.

The cooler weather may have impacted attendance somewhat, but everyone present seemed to have a great time. Needless to say, these events require a community effort to be effective. There are so many people and organizations to thank. Without our sponsors and volunteers, it would be impossible to host these events.

The presenting sponsor again this year is Harris Incorporated of Henderson. Paul Harris continues to assist the Chamber of Commerce in bringing Henderson the best live entertainment anywhere at no cost to anyone who attends.

The silver sponsor for “Meet Me in the Street” is Toyota of Henderson. The bronze sponsors are Print Enterprise, Inc., AA Self Storage, Jack H. Hughes, Jr., Attorney, East Carolina Tire/W.W. Properties and AAA Gas and Appliance.

Thanks to our media sponsors: The Daily Dispatch, WIZS 1450, Home in Henderson and WLUS 98.3.

Contributing sponsors were EarlyFalsom Properties, For Your Occasion Party Rentals, Franklin Brothers Nursery and Greenhouses, Inc. KARTS, Mike Brooks Productions, Screenmaster, and Vance Furniture.

The food and beverage concessions included Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola, Harris Incorporated of Henderson, Papa John’s Pizza and the Wildflower Café.

Our slogan is “Shop Henderson First”. Be sure to shop these and all chamber members that continue to work for the betterment of our community.

Also, a special thanks goes to the City of Henderson and especially the Henderson Police Department. It was great to bring this community event to the heart of Henderson and see the response of many that were able to walk to the concert.

Last but not least, we need to thank the many Chamber Ambassadors, Board of Directors Members, and other business Volunteers who took their time to make this event possible.

What a great time for everyone! We have been asked to please do it again, so watch for another “Meet Me in the Street” in the fall!
