Days Inn shooting victim identified


On June 30, 2007 at approximately 4:00 a.m., the Henderson Police Department responded to Days Inn at 1052 Ruin Creek Road concerning a report of someone shot.

Upon arrival, officers found one Hispanic male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the Maria Parham Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim has been identified as Ceasar Manuel Altamirano, age 26, of Matzalan, Mexico.

The victim was shot during an apparent robbery which occurred at the motel room which he occupied at Days Inn. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was taken during the robbery.

The investigation is continuing.
