Click to email candidate question
Once again, Home in Henderson will be submitting questions to persons running for office in Vance County.
However, we will not be generating the questions. You will.
By clicking the graphic identical to the one at the top of this article, near the upper right-hand corner of the screen, you will be able to email us the questions that you, the voter, would put to the candidates if you had the opportunity. We, in turn, will submit questions that meet our editorial criteria to the candidates in writing and publish their written responses.
We ask that questions be general enough to be put to all of the candidates. We will not ask questions in this forum that cannot be put to each person in the race. We also ask that questions pass the “reasonable person” test of acceptability in terms of taste, respect towards the candidates, use of language, and be free of negative commentary toward specific individuals, and that questions be free of partisanship.
Home in Henderson may rephrase or combine questions in the interest of maximum efficiency. Not all questions received will be used.
When you submit your questions, please specify which race (Henderson, Kittrell, or Middleburg) for which you are submitting the question.
Our target date for receiving the questions is Monday, August 13, 2007. We hope to submit the questions to candidates by Monday, August 20, 2007. We will ask for answers to be returned by Friday, August 31, 2007 with an anticipated publication date of September 14, 2007.
