On July 31, 2007, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Henderson Police Department responded to a report of someone shot on East Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found Frances Williams at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg.
Williams was transported to the Maria Parham Medical Center for treatment. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
Upon further investigation by the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, it was found that several shots were fired from a green Chevrolet Corsica occupied by a black male and driven by what witnesses described as a Hispanic female.
The suspects were alleged to be firing at Saleem Welfare who was walking on East Avenue at the time of the incident.
One of the bullets entered the residence of Williams and struck her in the leg.
Police are continuing the investigation and are currently searching for the vehicle and the occupants described.
