Vance County Schools posted a dropout rate of 5.06%, or 190 students during the 2006-2007 school year.
The figure represents a drop of .80% from the previous year, or a decline of 38 students.
In all of North Carolina, 23,550 students in grades 9-12 dropped out of school during the 2006-2007 school year, according to the Annual Dropout Report for School Year 2006-07.
In the 2005-2006 school year, 22,180 students dropped out, or 5.04% of the state’s high school students.
