HPD blotter: rash of car thefts


Arrests

– Jovan A. Bullock, of 606 E. Montgomery Street, was arrested for three counts of failure to appear, injury to property, and shoplifting.

– Rohsly Maria Cheek, of 258 High Street, was arrested for failing to appear on a charge of misdemeanor larceny. She was placed in the Vance County Jail under a $1,500 secured bond.

– Douglas Jermaine Russell, of 706 Farrar Avenue, was arrested for driving with a revoked license. He was placed in the Vance County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond.

– Stafford Royster, of 233 S. Cooper Drive Apt. 8B, was arrested for second degree trespassing. He was placed in the Vance County Jail under a $500 secured bond.

Incident Reports

March 19, 2008

– Fleeta Edwards reported that someone stole two bottles of her medicine while she was shopping at Food Lion on Dabney Drive.

– Lee Brewer reported that someone broke into his truck while it was parked at 18 Market Street (Sleep Inn). The following items were reported stolen: GPS TomTom, 32 volt Dewalt impact gun, DVD player, DVD’s, checkbook, and an assortment of socks.

– James Harrison reported that someone broke in his vehicle while is was parked at 18 Market Street (Sleep Inn). The following items were reported stolen: 5-shot Taurus revolver, Sanyo GPS, and a Cobra radar detector.

– Steve Garringer reported that someone broke in his vehicle while it was parked at 18 Market Street (Sleep Inn). The following items were reported stolen: Motorola cell phone and some change.

– Officer responded to an alarm call at 389 Raleigh Road (Dollar General). Someone broke in and stole four AM/FM players, approximately 40 pieces of children’s clothing, and assorted DVD’s.

– Sharita Yarborough reported that someone damaged her vehicle by shooting it.

– Curtis Hooks reported that somebody damaged his vehicle by trying to pry open the door with a screwdriver.

– Chris Fisher, of Henderson Fruit and Produce, reported that somebody removed copper wire from the business.

– Milton Boyd Harrison reported that someone had cashed six of his checks without permission.
