On April 30, 2008, members of the Henderson Police Department responded to 833 Water Street in reference to someone shot.
Upon arrival, officers found Samuel Crosson, 69, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
While on the scene at 833 Water Street, officers were dispatched to 1014 Water Street concerning another report of someone shot. Officers arrived on the scene to find Alvin Currin, 71, lying in the back yard of his residence. Currin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crosson was transported to the Maria Parham Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
After an investigation into both incidents, the investigation tends to show that Currin went to the address of 833 Water Street and had a brief encounter with Crosson which ended with Currin shooting Crosson while standing in the driveway of 833 Water Street. Currin died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot would at his residence at 1014 Water Street.
