HPD arrests Tony Finch’s assailant

Henderson Police Department Chief K.L. Sidwell reports that members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested the individual listed below involving the October 8, 2008 assault of Tony Finch.

Finch gained notoriety in the summer of 2007 when he was charged with ethnic intimidation, going armed to the terror of the public, and carrying a concealed weapon after an altercation that took place on June 8, 2007. He ended up pleading to a lesser charge of communicating threats in March of this year and was given a 45 day suspended sentence as well as two years of supervised probation.

The former police officer is alleged to have made the threat against District Attorney Sam Currin by stating that he was going to kill Currin and cut his head off.

Finch received severe facial and head injuries during the assault. Finch underwent emergency surgery in relation to the incident.

The release issued by the police did not indicate a motive in the assault.

The assault occurred at Twister’s night club located on Zeb Robinson Road. The investigation is continuing involving this incident.
