On January 9, 2009, at approximately 1 :40 a.m. officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to 687 Adams Street in reference to someone shot.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims. One victim, Montrell Alston, 28, was pronounced dead when EMS personnel arrived on the scene.
The other victim, Robert Smith, 56, also of 687 Adams Street, had been shot. Smith was transported to the Maria Parham Medical Center where he was treated. He is reported to be in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing into this incident by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
