On May 20, 2009, a vehicle stop on I-85 by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Highway Traffic Safety Unit (HTSU) resulted in the seizure of numerous fraudulently obtained credit cards and also the seizure of $27,000 in U.S. currency.
Jeffrey Lochard of 4019 Church Avenue, Brooklyn, New York and Atyna Yates of 668 Madison Avenue, Brooklyn, New York were arrested and charged. Both individuals were charged with nine counts of identity theft and are being held in the Vance County jail under a $75,000 bond each pending a June 1, 2009 court appearance.
The United States Secret Service was contacted, and the investigation is continuing
