On Friday, June 12, 2009, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., law enforcement officers in Vance County will sit atop Chick-fil-A in Henderson to raise money for the North Carolina Special Olympics.
The event will be broadcast by US 98.3 live from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
The opening ceremony will feature Ashlee Perkinson, Teen Miss North Carolina, as well as the Chick-fil-A cow.
At 9:00 a.m., local singer Steve Hyman will perform.
Henderson Mayor Pete O’Geary, Vance County Sheriff Peter White, and Henderson Police Chief Keith Sidwell will offer remarks at 10:00 p.m.
Blakely Bates will perform at 11:00.
From 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., there will be canine demonstrations by the HPD.
Character Antics will be present from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. with an outdoor inflatable slide and inside face painting.
Work in Progress will perform at 4:30 p.m.
