Police convenience store operation nets 13


On June 25, 2009, members of the Henderson Police Department and agents from North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) conducted operation “Community Revitalization Mobile Enforcement”.

This was an effort to address the complaints that the police department and the ALE have received from citizens in our community concerning illegal activity occurring in and around local convenience stores.

The arrest information listed below is the result of this effort. The issues and complaints of this nature from citizens that affect the quality of life in the community will continue to be addressed through proactive patrol and future operations of this type.

A total of thirteen people were arrested or issued citations with a total of 21 charges.

Charges

  • Possession of heroin – 1
  • Consumption of alcohol on off-premises establishment -1
  • Driving while license revoked – 2
  • No operator’s license – 3
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia – 2
  • Possession of marijuana – 4
  • Open container in vehicle – 1
  • Outstanding warrants served – 6
  • Resist delay and obstruct – 1
