Edwards to run against Rainey in October

In an email sent to Home in Henderson yesterday evening, local government watchdog Lewis Edwards announced that he will seek Henderson City Council member Mike Rainey’s Ward 2 seat in October.

In explaining his reasons for his candidacy, Edwards also wrote:

I hope to represent ALL the citizens in Henderson in a honest manner with all votes cast after considering – input from citizens, research, fact finding reviews – what will be best for Henderson, today, next year and 5 years into the future.

My greatest focus will be on crime reduction and returning our local government to a solid financial state with complete fiscal responsibility being not only exercised but required at all levels.

Edwards plans to file at 9:00 a.m. this morning.
