Night Out Against Crime August 1


This year’s theme: “Together United Against Crime 2009”

The annual Henderson-Vance Night Out Against Crime will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at 200 Breckenridge Street in downtown Henderson, North Carolina.

The guest speaker for the event is Caroline Farmer, the Deputy Director of the Victims and Citizens Section of the North Carolina Department of Justice. Featured remarks will be made by Henderson Mayor James D. “Pete” O’Geary, Vance County Board of Commissioners Chair Dan Brummitt, Dr. Norman Shearin, Superintendent of Schools of Vance County, Dr. Bill Bowers, Assistant Superintendent of Schools of Vance County, and Henderson-Vance Fire Chief Danny Wilkerson.

Sponsoring agencies include the Henderson Police Department, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, the Henderson-Vance Fire & Ambulance Department, the Vance County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity Inc., and Vance County Schools.
