Victim shot, then involved in car wreck


On August 3, 2009, around 2:48 p.m., officers with the Henderson Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Spring Street in reference to someone being shot.

Upon arrival, it was learned that the victim, Albert Bowers, 21, of Plum Nutty Road in Henderson, North Carolina was taken by a personal vehicle to the Maria Parham Medical Center.

While in route to the hospital, the vehicle transporting the gunshot victim was involved in a two car motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Dabney Drive and Prosperity Drive. A bystander in another vehicle then transported the victim to the hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound.

The shooting incident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division. The Uniform Patrol Division is investigating the motor vehicle collision.
