On August 6, 2009 members of the Raleigh Police Department’s Fugitive Task Force along with members of the Henderson Police Department apprehended Tevin Lee Daye, 16, of Oakridge Church Road in Kittrell, North Carolina at an apartment complex located on Calvary Road in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Daye has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of David Hicks on June 14, 2009 around 2:00 a.m. at the America’s Best Value Inn at 200 Parham Road in Henderson, North Carolina. Daye is being held in the Vance County Jail without bond pending his court appearance on August 17th, 2009.

On June 27, 2009 Brooks Montel Jones, 19, of 1644 S. Lynnbank Road in Kittrell was indicted by a grand jury for first degree murder. Jones is being held in the Vance County Jail without bond pending his court appearance on September 1, 2009.
