I am writing because I am very concerned about some things that I know are going on in Henderson.
For instance, two weeks ago my five year old son was riding his bike when a… neighbor started calling him names such as, punk, sissy, and pussy.
When my son started crying and said he was gonna go tell mama, he [was] kicked in the butt. My son of course came home crying and told me that [he had been] kicked.
I immediately called 911. When the officers arrived, I told them what happened and so did my 7 year old son. They told me I could take out a warrant on him.
I went the following morning to the magistrate’s office. The magistrate told me that the [neighbor] should have been arrested on the spot because my son was so young. Then he said it probably wouldn’t even stand in court because I didn’t have an adult witness. Basically, he was trying to talk me out of taking a warrant out on [the neighbor]. Of course I can’t tell that I did take a warrant out because this [neighbor] is still sitting down the street drinking…beer. [The neighbor] was never arrested. The court date is supposed to be next week.
If I had kicked my son or called him names like that, DSS would be all over my tail. I also have heard a few other people who have went to take warrants out on someone say that the magistrate told them it was a waste of time to take the warrants out. My question is, if Henderson ever wants things to change around here, how can they expect it to happen when the ones doing all the crime are still sitting on the streets not in jail when they do have warrants out for their arrest? When half of them go to court they get slapped on the wrist and sent home.
Henderson will always be the same until we start taking care of the crap running the streets. It’s terrible when your kids can’t even ride their bikes on their own road without having to worry about a grown [neighbor] calling them names and putting their hands on them. No matter if [the neighbor] was just picking on my son or not, [the neighbor] could have really hurt him. [The neighbor] could have broke his back had [the neighbor] missed his tail. Or even worse, [the neighbor] could have hit my son in his private parts making it to where he may not of been able to have kids in the future.
Now, in all truthfulness, I really want to take this into my own hands… If the law doesn’t start doing something about these people around here, a lot of people are gonna start doing the law’s job in their own way and then it’s gonna be a really bad situation. Well maybe not, because then the streets will finally be clean. Now, come on, can’t somebody do something to help this situation out?????????
