Henderson City Council Ward 2 At-Large candidate Robert G. “Bobby” Gupton informed Home in Henderson earlier this afternoon that he is withdrawing his candidacy.
Gupton cited health reasons for his withdrawal.
Stating that he has been suffering from headaches for about a year, the former Henderson City Council member told HiH that so far the cause of the headaches has not been diagnosed.
“I’d hate on the slim chance that I’m elected not be able to serve,” Gupton said.
His withdrawal from the race makes the Ward 2 At-Large seat a two-way contest between incumbent Michael Inscoe and challenger Lowell West.
