4 HPD arrests plead guilty in federal court


The following persons plead guilty in Federal Court from charges steaming from arrests made by the Henderson Police Department and prosecutions made by the United States District Attorney’s Office:

Derrick Sterling Miles
Derrick Miles, 29

Derrick Sterling Miles, 29 years old, of 712 Champion Street Henderson, plead guilty on November 3, 2009 to a federal firearms charge of felony possession of a firearm and a federal drug charge for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance. Miles is facing a ten year maximum sentence on the firearms charge and a maximum of forty years for the drug charge.

Anthony Gill
Anthony Gill, 36

Anthony “Tony” Gill, 36 years old, of 1012 Standish Street in Henderson plead guilty on November 4, 2009 to federal drug conspiracy charges. Gill is facing a mandatory sentence of twenty plus years for the charges.

Ronald Hargrove
Ronald Hargrove, 34

Ronald Hargrove, 34 years old, of 112 Turner Circle in Norlina plead guilty to a federal firearm charge of felony possession of a firearm. Hargrove is facing a maximum sentence of up to ten years.

Morey Bernal Champion
Morey Bernal Champion, 20

Morey Bernal Champion, 20 years old, of Henderson plead guilty on November 12, 2009 to federal charges for possession of a firearm by a felon. Champion is facing a maximum sentence of fifty-one months.
