The Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre in Henderson, North Carolina (the Triangle area’s only drive-in theatre) is hoping to help stock some food bank shelves this holiday season by offering movie patrons an opportunity to get a free child’s movie admission by bringing two cans of food (or box dinners) to the theatre when they attend this season’s holiday movies.
For every two cans received, movie patrons will get a free child’s movie ticket that they can use immediately or at anytime in the 2010 season.
With area food banks scampering to meet the heavy demand this year for food, we just wanted to be able to help where we can and encourage other businesses or movie theatres in the Triangle area to collect food for area food banks.
Every effort to help these food banks are greatly appreciated, and it is just a small way to help extend a hand to our fellow man.
While the food drive has just started at Raleigh Road, it is their hope that this program will gain enough momentum to extend it into the New Year, so that additional needs can be met during the winter months.
Food collected by Raleigh Road will be distributed to Lifeline Ministries or to ACTS in the Henderson area.
