New attendance zones for four county schools

Vance County Schools Public Information Officer Terri Hedrick wrote the following regarding the proposed plan:

The proposed plan calls for students currently in the Clark Street Elementary School attendance zone to attend the new elementary school. It also calls for the redrawing of district lines for Aycock, L.B. Yancey and Zeb Vance Elementary Schools. Some of the students currently attending those schools will attend the new school.

Maps of the proposed redistricting plan are on display for public viewing in the four affected schools and the school system’s Administrative Services Center.

Anyone with concerns about the proposed redistricting plan should submit their comments in writing to the principal at one of the four schools by January 15, 2010. The principal will then share the written comments with members of the Redistricting Committee reviewing the proposal.
