HPD makes arrest for concealed weapon


On February 3, 2010 around 1:30 a.m. a patrol officer with the Henderson Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of Lincoln Street in Henderson, North Carolina.

Upon stopping, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

After a short foot chase, the suspect, Rakim Jaburr Henderson of 219 Lincoln Street, Henderson was apprehended.

After a search of the area where the suspect fled, a loaded handgun was located.

Henderson was arrested and charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing, assault on a government official, and carrying a concealed weapon. He was given a secured bond of $2,000 and remains in the Vance County Jail pending an initial court appearance on March 16, 2010.

Rakim Henderson is currently out on a $30,000 secured bond for a June 7th, 2009 arrest for Possession of a Stolen Firearm. The arrest occurred at Lincoln Heights Apartment and the firearm was taken from a vehicle on Apple Street, Henderson on April, 6th, 2008.
