The shoes were confiscated as a result of an investigation into the sale of counterfeit merchandise conducted by Det. L.S. Burchette. The defendant, Duane Henry Harrison, 38, was charged with one felony count of criminal use of counterfeit trademark.

On January 11, 2010, pursuant to a negotiated plea, Harrison plead guilty to one misdemeanor count and the merchandise in this matter was ordered forfeited to a non-profit organization.

The Henderson Police Department will continue to cooperate with the North Carolina Secretary of State’s Office and The Vance County District Attorney’s Office to combat illegal counterfeit trademark violations.
