The Vance County Board of Commissioners will meet in a work session on March 16, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
No location was given for the work session. Home in Henderson will seek clarification of the location and update this article as needed.
The following issues are on the slate for the work session:
The city is requesting 100% funding by the county in two fiscal years with the building being deeded to the county when the debt has been retired.
The city is asking the county to fund 100% of the cost, with the city paying 100% of municipal-only elections;
The city is asking for the county to assume 100% of recreation costs by fiscal 2012;
The city is seeking a 50-50 split of proceeds rather than the 15% it currently gets.
The city would like the county to assume 100% of the funding of this service by fiscal 2012.
The city would like the county to forgive the three-year payback plan of $40,000 per year and to deduct the value from the value of the library.
The planning session is being held in anticipation of an Intergovernmental Committee meeting on March 18, 2010.
