Scam telephone calls about Visa debit cards

The Henderson Police Department is warning area residents about false telephone calls and messages from a “representative” of Security Savings Bank.

The perpetrator[s] is asking potential victims to call 910.207.0000 because of a problem with their Visa debit card.

These calls are a scam. Security Savings Bank will not call or text any customers asking for any type of personal information.  Should you receive one of these calls, please do not respond — just hang up on the caller.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Henderson Police Department at 252.431.6062.

Security Savings Bank has had its name on this scam for the last few days.  It is anticipated that other banks’ names may be used soon.  Once again, no bank or credit union will contact their customers requesting such personal information.
