HPD makes arrest for burlary


On May 19, 2010 at approximately 9:15 a.m., an officer of the Henderson Police Department’s Patrol Division noticed two black males in the area of E. Andrews Avenue on bikes.

The officer, who is assigned to that particular zone, continued checking businesses and residences in his zone.

While patrolling on E. Andrews Avenue, the officer saw the two bikes he observed earlier leaning against a fence at a residence on E. Andrews Avenue. The officer recognized the residence and knew that no one was at home at that time. The officer parked in the area and observed the residence.

A short time later, two black males exited through the front door. One of the suspects appeared to have several items in his pockets. After the officer spoke with the male subjects, it was determined that the two black males had broken into the residence and stolen several items. Upon further investigation by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigation Division, the two black males were taken into custody, one of whom was a juvenile, and charged with the following crimes:
