U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (2nd District, North Carolina) visited E.M. Rollins Elementary School in Henderson, North Carolina for approximately one hour yesterday.

Etheridge toured the school with Vance County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Norman Shearin, looking into classrooms and visiting with students, teachers, and administrators.
The representative and this reporter spoke briefly on the use of technology in the classroom, especially as it concerned the use of a Smartboard in this reporter’s classroom.
A Smartboard is combination computer projection screen and touchpad that allows interactive computer presentations. E.M. Rollins Elementary was recently upgraded with integrated Smartboard systems in its intermediate classrooms along with Smart Tables in its primary classrooms.
