On September 11, 2010 at approximately 2:44 p.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to Wal-Mart, located at 200 N. Cooper Drive in Henderson, North Carolina in reference to an attempted armed robbery.
The victim told police that the suspect forced her into her vehicle by threatening her with a knife and then demanded money. 
A brief struggle occurred which caused the victim to sustain minor injuries to her hands. After the victim began screaming for help, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Upon further investigation by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, the suspect, identified as Harry Latta of 500 Mountain Lane in Henderson, North Carolina was quickly apprehended and charged with first degree kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon.
