Vance Special Olympians bring home medals

Vance County State Special Olympic Bocce Team

On Saturday, October 16, 2010, five Special Olympic Athletes traveled to Fayetteville, North Carolina to compete in the 2010 Eastern Bocce Tournament.

Over 200 athletes from the eastern part of the state hit the bocce courts for this state-level competition.

All five Vance County Special Olympics athletes brought home a medal:

David Pulley – Gold Medal, Division S07

Lawrence Hawkins – Bronze Medal, Division S09

Irvin Branch – Silver Medal, Division S07

Estella Vacher – Bronze Medal, Division S08

Rudy May – Gold Medal, Division S09

On Wednesday, October 13, 2010, five Special Olympics athletes competed in the local bocce tournament.
