City Boards & Commissions Committee meets Dec. 8
The Henderson City Council’s Boards & Commissions Committee will meet on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss appointments/re-appointments to the Human Relations Committee, Economic Development Committee, Clean Up Henderson Committee and the H. Leslie Perry Library Board. The meeting is open to the public.

Arrest made for November Maple St. shooting
On December 3, 2010, members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigation Division served an arrest warrant on Torrey Rossell Kersey, 458 Swain Drive in Henderson, North Carolina for assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to Kill and going armed to the terror of the public.
Citizen tips lead to armed robbery arrest
On December 2, 2010, members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on Kyle Satterwhite, 1010 Parham Street in Henderson, North Carolina for robbery with a dangerous weapon.

New laws as of Dec. 1
The following new pieces of legislation went into effect as of the first of this month: License tag frames that obscure any information will be assessed a $100 fine; The Move Over law has been expanded to utility crews working at the side of the road to restore electric service after an accident or inclement weather. The fine for violating the law is $250. It also requires motorists to slow down and/or move to an inside lane for law enforcement …

The Water District Board will convene during the County Manager’s Report portion of the meeting.
County HR Committee meets Dec. 6
