Today’s waste collection moved to tomorrow
Due to the inclement weather, household garbage and yard debris scheduled for Tuesday, January 11, 2011 will be collected on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Please have carts at the curb by 6:00 a.m. for collection by Waste Industries. If there is black ice on city streets, the trucks may start late, but garbage will be collected. Please leave your cart at the curb until collected.

Council votes to swap Armory for SNB building
The Henderson City Council voted 4-1 to swap its interest in the Henderson-Vance Armory in exchange for sole proprietorship of the Southern National Bank building on Garnett Street.

Woman arrested for embezzlement
Ashley Mace Champion, 26, of 536 Abbott Road Lot 8 in Henderson, North Carolina was arrested and charged with ten counts of embezzlement on December 23, 2010.
