HPD makes shoplifting arrests


For the second time in two weeks, Henderson Police Officers arrested Rhonda Whitfield, 50, 1512 Nicholas Street in Henderson.

On February 2, 2011, Whitfield was charged with one count of shoplifting for an incident that occurred at Mast Family Drug. In that incident, it is alleged that Whitfield concealed several bottles of Aquaphor as well as a heart monitor system in the sleeves of her coat. The total value of merchandise Whitfield concealed was $153.65. Whitfield was issued a citation. A court date was scheduled for Vance County District Court on March 15, 2011.

On February 9, 2011, a Henderson Police Department officer responded to Roses, 1471 Norlina Road in Henderson response to a larceny. Evans found that Roses employees were following two individuals who had left the store without paying for items. With the employees’ assistance, the officer made contact with Rhonda Whitfield and Dorsey Paschall, 56, of 7659 Mountain Road in Oxford. It is alleged that these two individuals left Roses without paying for $44.72 worth of health and beauty items. Whitfield and Paschall were taken into custody and charged with one count of misdemeanor larceny each. Both individuals were placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a $500 bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Vance County District Court on March 7, 2011.
